To the TTU Christian Fraternity/Sororities

Dear Christian Fraternity/Sorority,
I was honored to speak at your joint chapter a few weeks ago. I was encouraged to see the body of Christ present to worship Jesus. I love see the diversity in the room but especially seeing the men worship the Lord. Young men worshiping Jesus is rare in our society.
While I was speaking, I mention some things that were somewhat controversial to which it has cause more division in the body than unity. My intention was not to stir up anger in your hearts or to slander your organization. I was trying to paint of picture of the reality and what your organization could be. I also understand that it may seem that I was taking a bias approach towards MOG. Well I am here to tell you, that MOG has some things to work through as well.  All in all, I want all you to worship Jesus and to make him known. Christ is going to redeem his people not a certain an organization.
There a few things I want to leave you with because I believe this is a learning experience for all of us.
1.     I made a mistake and I take responsibility for the backlash. I could have worded things differently. I was not trying to make any of you angry.
2.     Proverbs 12:1 “ Whoever loves disciplines love knowledge, but whoever hates reproof is stupid.
a.     So whoever is standing before you, please listen to what they have to say before you make assumptions. There is maturity within the believer to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger as stated in James 1:19
3.     Satan is getting what he wants if all people do is fight after hearing a sermon about unity.
Again, I love all of you deeply and I sincerely pray that you and your organization will glorify God. As the Westminster catchceism would say the chief end of man is to enjoy God and to glorify him forever. That's my prayer for you.
If anyone of you have any questions or want to talk this through please contact me.

In him,
Rashard Barnes
